We have dosed “Malodor-Control Hydrogel” inside the box culvert to suppress the odour-producing bacteria and alleviate the odour problem from the source.
“Malodor-Control Hydrogel” is researched by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). In 2017, HKUST and Drainage Services Department completed a 12-month trial of applying hydrogel at 10 locations for odour control. Drainage Services Department now conducts the trial at more than 400 sites in Hong Kong.
